5 suspected herdsmen killers have been arrested in Plateau by OPSH

Men of the Special Task Force, known as Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, in plateau State have arrested five suspected cattle rustlers who reportedly killed a fulani herdsman and rustled 32 cows and 30 sheep in Mangu local government area of the State.
The secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Muhammad Adam, said the rustlers were Berom who crossed from Fan district in Barkin Ladi local government area and killed one 35-years-old Adamu Yusuf before rustling his cattle and sheep on Sunday evening.
Adam disclosed that 19 of the stolen cows as well as the sheep have been recovered by the OPSH officers in Barkin Ladi, adding that the rustlers have agreed to take the herders and security agents to Gyel market in Bukuru, Jos south where the remaining cows were kept.
Operation Safe Heaven media and information officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, who confirmed the killing of the fulani herdsman noted that 19 cows and all the sheep were recovered.
He said, “Five suspects are now in our custody, we are tracking the remaining cows because the cattle were scattered and some have been sold so we are tracking them and making arrests as we go.

“We have traced some to Bukuru and by the time we round up the operation, We will get more information.”
